Being registered with the group assignments allows "your group webmaster" to create and send newsletters to the group(s). What's needed for that to work is for the audience to request an account and send the info or you can just send a list of members with email, & group(s) then we can bulk load them.

Configure your side modules and other preferences in MyPlace after logging in.

Add events from the calendar grid with user default values. See THIS example event.
Notes
Some forums permit mail-in & reply posts. Forum description will note Mail-in enabled. You need to watch forum to receive posts by email. Click on the EYE.
