March 2010
From the East
Brethren,Thanks so much for the e-mails, cards, phone calls and prayers concerning my recent operation. Everything looks like it is doing fine and I feel like I am well on my way to full recovery.
Your Lodge is moving full speed ahead. We now have twelve entered apprentices working, one fellow craft working and one ready to be raised to the Master Mason degree. This is a great time for those of you who have been wanting to get back involved in degree work to come out and take one of the new members and guide him through all degrees. Please come out and get involved.

We had a tremendous response for our Lasagna Dinner Fundraiser. Thanks to those of you who purchased tickets, we added $1,600 to our treasury. Job well done!
Thanks to my SW Rudy and the rest of my officers as well as my “The Past Master” PM Doug for a job well done in my absence.
Our March Stated is Past Masters’ Night. Come out and show your support for the Pillars of Lynnhaven Lodge and, if you come at 6 p.m., you can share old times and good food with each other.

From the West
Greetings to all,With sincerity, I would like to say “Thank You” to all of you for your prayers for our Worshipful Master for a successful surgery. Let’s keep him in our prayers for a speedy recovery.
Your support and donations towards our lasagna fund raising dinner was truly appreciated, and it was a success. Your assistance, may it be in the kitchen or degree works, is always welcome. We have “schools” on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Lodge breakfast the third Saturday in which you can participate, so come on by.
Another month has gone by with six Entered Apprentice candidates initiated in the month of February. We are moving in the right direction. This is an evidence that the greatest and best of men in all ages have been encouragers and promoters of the art. So, it is therefore our duties as Master Mason to correct the errors and irregularities of our youngest Entered Apprentices and aid them with reformation.

Our next fundraising project will be our YARD SALE on
Saturday, April 17th (8 a.m.-3 p.m.)
6’ tables can be rented for $10 each. Contact Worshipful Master Jim Wagner @ 430-1733 to reserve yours.

Brethren,For those of you that attended the stated meeting in February, I don’t need to tell you how great the dinner was or what a great job our stewards and assistants did. I complement you all for the excellent food and service.
The Valentine dinner, which was held on February 13, was a huge success. The lasagna was a culinary delight and the turn out was great. If you missed it, you really missed a really nice event. Kudos to everyone who helped make this a success.
Let’s talk about food one more time. On February 20, we had our monthly breakfast. Guess what…it was well attended and the food was…you guessed it, great. Are you all seeing a pattern here?
Now a few words on my favorite topic, the Masonic Home of Virginia. Did you know it is a gated community situated on ninety pristine acres just outside the city limits of Richmond? Did you know it was founded in 1980 by members of the Masonic fraternity? The basic Masonic principals of love and care of family, neighbor, God and country are the keystones of the Masonic Home of Virginia. Did you know it is the only Masonic-related continuing care retirement community in Virginia and one of the few of its kind in America? Want more? Look for my article next month for more information on the home.
Fraternally yours,
Gerald A. (Jerry) Anderson
Junior Warden

56th Masonic District News
Masters and DDGM, please submit district information to Report on Grand Master’s Official Visit to the 56th Masonic District
Brethren, Ladies, Widows and Friends: Please accept my heartfelt thanks for making the Grand Master's Official Visit to our District on January 16, 2010, a HUGE SUCCESS. Our goal was to give Most Worshipful Rorer, his lady Judith, and the Grand Master’s Party a visit they could remember and talk about the rest of the year. Your attendance and participation in the visit permitted that to be a reality. For those of you who missed the evening, you missed an outstanding meal, some superb entertainment and what I have been told was an overall enjoyable evening for all. The highlight of the evening, of course, was hearing our Grand Master’s address. I tip my hat to all in our great district for your support of your lodge and lodge officers already this year and can only ask that you continue to give that same support in any way possible. From your attendance at the Official Visit (244 meals served), it was quite evident to our Grand Master that freemasonry is alive and doing quite well in the 56th Masonic District. Again, thank you so much for your contribution to the success of our reception of the 165th Grand Master of Masons in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Most Worshipful William Earle Rorer, Jr. Sincerely and Fraternally, Dennis E.
