From the Master's Station Greetings from the East! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the last bit of warmer weather as our summer months start to come to a close. Though the summer season might be ending, your lodge continues to be alive and well with activity. If you were not in attendance at our August stated meeting you missed a truly outstanding program by our District Educational Officer, Right Worshipful James Fields, Jr., on “Back to the Basics of Freemasonry”, which he entitled “Tater Time”. I would like to congratulate and extend a welcoming hand to Worshipful Richard Hodge, who was unanimously elected to membership in our lodge. Also, please take the time to congratulate Right Worshipful Russel Snodgrass for the hard work and dedication he has put forth to obtain his Wardens’ Certificate, which was presented to him by Right Worshipful Robert Simpson. Over the last two months our lodge has had the pleasure of participating in two Child Identification Programs. One was our annual program held during Waynesboro’s Summer Extravaganza and the other being the National Night Out held at the Staunton Mall. I would like to thank each and every brother who took time out of his busy schedule to assist with these events. I would like to give my special thanks to the members of our Child ID Committee for all their hard work and dedication, insuring that both Child ID programs were a success! On Friday, September 3rd our Grand Master, Most Worshipful William Earle Rorer, Jr. will be making his Official Visit to the 19th Masonic District. This event will be held at Tinkling Springs Presbyterian Church in Fishersville. It is my sincere hope that you will attend this event and support our Grand Master giving him a warm welcome on behalf of our district and lodge. If you are able to attend, please contact Right Worshipful John Craft to reserve your seat. For additional information, please see announcement in this newsletter. As many of you are now aware, Lee Lodge is conducting a “Life Membership in Perpetuity Raffle”, as a fundraiser to support our Scholarship Fund. We have been very fortunate over the last two years to support the educational endeavors of two outstanding graduates from our community by awarding them our Scholarship. Please consider supporting this fundraiser so that we may continue to make a difference in lives of local graduates. I hope to see you in lodge for the September stated meeting as we honor the legacy and contributions to our fraternity made by our Past Masters. I have been looking forward to this program all year, and am hoping you will be there as we show our sincere appreciation and gratitude for all they have done. As always, if I can be of assistance to you in anyway, please let me know. Fraternally Yours, Brian |
