From the East
Brethren,
Light will be restored to Lynnhaven at our August Stated and our officers had better have their track shoes on. We also have an Open House scheduled for the 7th of August from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please bring friends, family and anyone else that may have an
interest in Masonry to tour the Lodge and have any questions answered. We will also be cooking hot dogs for lunch.
We have two Brothers ready to stand their E.A. exam and will be passed to F.C. Degree the 24th of August.
We are currently practicing for the Parkerson School to be held at Bayside Lodge on August 21st from 8:00 a.m. ‘till 3:00 pm. Lynnhaven will be conferring the second session of the MM Degree. Please come out and support our Brethren in their efforts.
I would like to introduce our new members to Lynnhaven #220. They are Mike Farley, Zack Johnson, Chris Supino, Kevin Poland, Tom Oakes, Greg Turner, Dave Coner, and Jim Kelly. Each one brings his own special personality to the Lodge. Thanks guys.
I would like to thank Wor. Joe Hagerman for his excellent program, Friday, July 16th, of the importance of the Fellow Craft Degree to Masonry. If you were not there, you missed a great time and lots of food. Maybe you can make the next one.
Don’t forget that the August Stated is Hawaiian Shirt Night.
Mark your calendar now for our next fund raiser which will be a pork dinner in September.
Fraternally yours,
Jimmy W. (Jim) Wagner
Master

From the West
Brethren,It has been very quiet month for our Lodge, except for our few Brethren who have been ill and hospitalized. Please continue your prayers for their early recovery.
As of now, we are gearing up for our part in the Parkerson School in August. We practice every Tuesday and Thursday night so come on out and be a part of the degree team. And, even if you don’t have the desire to be a part of the degree team, come out anyway to listen, observe, and maybe even be sideline support for the degree team.
On another note, 2011 is fast approaching and I am currently looking for Junior and Senior Stewards. If you think you can volunteer at least four hours a month of your time for your Lodge, please consider being a Steward.
Fraternally and sincerely,
Rodolfo (Rudy) DelaRosa
Senior Warden

Brethren,The spaghetti dinner before the July Stated was delicious. I am sure that the dinner before the August Stated will be every bit as good. Come out to the meeting and join us for dinner. We would love to have you.
Brethren, are you aware of the Virginia Masonic Home’s outreach program? It was developed in 2001 as an effort to assist Brethren, their wives and widows who live in Masonic districts which are more distantly located from the home’s facility in Richmond. The program recognizes that many people might not want to move to Richmond. The same qualifications for the home must be met. There is no cost for the in-home services. Additional information on this program is available by contacting the Masonic Home of Virginia at 804-222-1694.
Fraternally yours,
Gerald A. (Jerry) Anderson
Junior Warden

56th Masonic District News
Masters and DDGM, please submit district information to Report on Grand Master’s Official Visit to the 56th Masonic District
Brethren, Ladies, Widows and Friends: Please accept my heartfelt thanks for making the Grand Master's Official Visit to our District on January 16, 2010, a HUGE SUCCESS. Our goal was to give Most Worshipful Rorer, his lady Judith, and the Grand Master’s Party a visit they could remember and talk about the rest of the year. Your attendance and participation in the visit permitted that to be a reality. For those of you who missed the evening, you missed an outstanding meal, some superb entertainment and what I have been told was an overall enjoyable evening for all. The highlight of the evening, of course, was hearing our Grand Master’s address. I tip my hat to all in our great district for your support of your lodge and lodge officers already this year and can only ask that you continue to give that same support in any way possible. From your attendance at the Official Visit (244 meals served), it was quite evident to our Grand Master that freemasonry is alive and doing quite well in the 56th Masonic District. Again, thank you so much for your contribution to the success of our reception of the 165th Grand Master of Masons in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Most Worshipful William Earle Rorer, Jr. Sincerely and Fraternally, Dennis E. Edwards District Deputy Grand Master 56th Masonic District of Virginia, A.F. & A.M. Life Membership in Perpetuity Plan

Blood Drive Information
For information for future Blood Drives, contact Worshipful Doug Norris, Lynnhaven 220 Blood Coordinator 757-650-6707Blood drives these days are very critical especially with what’s going on in the world. The American Red Cross and the 56th Masonic District need your support. By donating blood you not only help the 56th Masonic District, but your fellow Americans too. If you know of someone; a friend, a wife, a son, a neighbor, bring him or her along too. Remember you can give every 58 days. Those who like to lose weight, for every pint of blood given you lose 1 pound of weight. If you plan to give blood somewhere else, all you need to do is write on the American Red Cross form that you are donating your blood for the benefit of the 56th Masonic District Blood Drive. You can register an appointment at www.givelife.org Masonic Leadership Program
The Committee on Masonic Education and Publications proudly presents this program on self-improvement to all Master Masons within the Grand Jurisdiction of Virginia. This program has been developed to assist the individual Mason as well as the Blue Lodge. Participation in the program will assist you in many areas, such as the Ritual, Ceremonies, Methodical Digest, and other related areas of Freemasonry. It will aid you in having a more positive concept of what this Fraternity is, its organization, administration, laws, and the ideals for which it strives. Download an Application |
